Nassau County First-time Homebuyer Downpayment Assistance Program

The Nassau County Office of Housing and Community Development has awarded $500,000 in federal HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) Program funding for the First-time Homebuyer Downpayment Assistance Program.

Eligibility Requirements
The First-time Homebuyer Downpayment Assistance Program is exclusively for first-time homebuyers; those who have not owned a home during the three year period immediately prior to the purchase of a residence with HOME assistance funding. Applicants must have an annual household income (overtime and assets also taken into consideration) minimum of $30,000 that does not exceed the program’s set limits (shown below), must attend a mortgage counseling session, and be able to secure a mortgage.
 
Property Guidelines
Any home purchased with program funds must be used as the borrower’s primary residence. Eligible property types include pre-existing or newly constructed single-family dwellings (includes townhouses, condominiums, co-operative apartments, and manufactured homes) located within the boundaries of Nassau County. All properties’ Maximum Appraised Value must fall under $409,000.

4-person household: $93,350
5-person household: $100,850
6-person household: $108,300
7-person household: $115,750
8-person household: $123,250
