CAASTLC Housing Assistance

The Community Action Agency of St. Louis County Inc. (CAASTLC) offers Housing Assistance programs that help first-time homebuyers overcome hurdles that come with the mortgage process.

Available Assistance
CAASTLC offers the Individual Development Account (IDA) program where all participating applicants successfully completing the program and saving their money have the opportunity to receive down payment assistance, to help offset the cost of buying a home. This assistance varies based on the county:
St. Louis County: zero-interest deferred loan - $3,000 due upon sale or transfer
City of Florissant: zero-interest 5-year forgivable loan up to $3,500.00
St. Charles City & County: zero-interest deferred loan - $5,000 due upon sale or transfer
City of O’Fallon: zero-interest deferred loan - $5,000 due upon sale or transfer
 
Eligibility Requirements
All applicants must complete homebuyer education and one-on-one counseling with “Homeownership Ready” status. They must have at least $1,000 saved in their own funds and their household income must not exceed 80% median income.

The City of Columbia, Missouri's Homeownership Assistance Program was created to help income-eligible first-time homebuyers purchase their first home.
