Ohio's geographic location has proven to be an asset for economic growth and expansion. Because the state links the Northeast to the Midwest, much cargo and business traffic passes along its well-developed highways. Ohio is within a one-day drive of half of North America's population. To the north, Lake Erie gives the state over 300 miles of coastline, allowing for numerous seaports.
Ohio's largest cities include Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Toledo, Akron, and Dayton, with metro population estimates as much as five times the city populations. The state boasts famous destinations, museums, and hospitals, including the Pro Football Hall of Fame, The Cleveland Clinic, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the National Museum of the United States Air Force. Companies that call Ohio home include Goodyear Tire and Rubber, Procter & Gamble, Kroger, Macy's Inc., Chiquita Brands International, and Fifth Third Bank.
